About
Coastal Travel Review is an English-language publication about the character of coastal places. We follow shorelines, harbour spaces, seaside streets and the paths that connect them, attending to how a place is shaped and how a visitor might read it.
What we cover
Our subjects range from the form of a beach or harbour to the layout of a seaside town, the history behind a familiar coastal feature and the choices involved in shaping a day by the water. We favour lasting questions over passing travel fashions.
Who it is for
The publication is for curious travellers, coastal walkers and readers who enjoy understanding the places they visit. You need no specialist knowledge: a willingness to look closely is enough.
How we approach a place
We explain terms, distinguish observation from interpretation and make room for variation between coasts. Our writing offers ways to notice and plan, not promises about conditions or substitutes for local information when circumstances call for it.
